The Single National Rate is the new tariff
structure for Cable & Wireless fixed line calling, which
comes into effect October1, 2005. With Single National Rate,
customers will no longer be billed for intra and inter parish
calls as currently obtains. Single national rate also clears
the way for several exciting new opportunities that we will
be launching to re-inforce the value, reliability and convenience
of fixed line services for Jamaican businesses and consumers.
Pricing
As of October 1, calling rates for both residential
and business customers will be the same. The previous billing

Previously, customers had the first 60 minutes of intra-parish
calls free of cost. However, under the Single National rate,
the first 60 minutes of off-peak calls will be free each month.
Cable & Wireless fixed line customers on the low user
option will not see a change in their existing call rates.
All charges for World Talk cards remain the same.
Bill Format Changes
As a result if the Single National Rate, your bill statement
will present your call charges
in a new format, starting with your October bill.
|
Between October 1 and December 31, 2005 all fixed line
calls will be itemized on |
| |
monthly bills. |
Effective January 1, 2006 all CWJ’s fixed line to
fixed line, peak and off peak calls |
| |
will be presented in a summary format.
Details will be presented for: |
 |
| |
i. Calls to bmobile, other mobile
and local operators
ii. International numbers dialed
iii. Calls that attract premium rates |
Please note that persons that requested detailed bills under
the previous tariff structure will automatically receive detailed
bills under the SNR after December 31, 2005. Person who do
not customarily receive detailed bills and would like to have
this beyond December 31, 2005 will need to call 1-888-CALL-CWJ
or come into the nearest C&WJ business office.
Change to Dialing Formats
As a result of the Single National Rate, you will no longer
need to dial the digit 1 for
fixed line to fixed line calls anywhere within Jamaica- just
dial the seven digit number
you want to reach. Fixed line users will however continue
to dial World Talk, mobile, international and premium rate
calls in the same way we do now.
