HIGH SPEED INTERNET SERVICE REQUIREMENTS

To get High Speed Internet Service you will need:

  • A telephone line from a Cable & Wireless Exchange/Central Office that is enabled with High Speed Internet.
  • An modem that is compatible with our High Speed Internet service (Note: Dial-up modems will not work with the service)
  • A Splitter/Filter to allow simultaneous use of both Internet access and telephone (voice) service.
  • Electricity to power all devices
  • A Computer or Internet Access Device with a the following minimum requirements
Operating System:
Windows 2000, Widows XP, Windows ME, Windows NT 4.0 (Min Service Pack 3), Mac(We support Linux but customer must source drivers)
Microprocessor:

Intel® Pentium processor or equivalent:

233 MHz or faster for Windows 98 or Millennium (Me)

233 MHz or faster for Windows 2000

300 MHz or faster for Windows XP
Memory:

128 MB for Windows 98 or Millennium (Me)

128 MB for Windows XP or 2000
Free Hard Disk Space:
 100 MB free hard drive space
Peripheral Hardware:

-Spare full-powered USB Port (USB) or
-Spare PCI slot with Bus Mastering Support (PCI) or
-10/100BaseT Ethernet Network Interface Card (NIC) (Ethernet)
-CD-ROM or DVD drive

Note -
Systems specifications higher than the minimum should enhance performance

High Speed Internet service requires a minimum standard of CAT 3 data cabling to work reliably. If your premises are not wired with this cable, your High Speed Internet service will not work. Customers are responsible for installing this wiring in their premises, including wiring beyond the master jack and any wiring for additional users
